sexing oscars

Does anyone have any ideas about how to tell the sex of an oscar by their behaviour? I was told that when there's a pair one of them vibrates their tail at the other...i can't think if it was the male or female though...and another way, the female shys away from things, lying on her side, while the male stands his ground. Has anyone ever heard/seen this?

Well my parents used to have a large tank in their 1st house and it was like 85 gallons and they had a breeding pair but there were no differences between them that I could see in the pictures of them. I havn't kept them though myself so I can't say for sure. ;D
