I asked my super awesome epic LFS if they had any powder blue dwarfs and they told me they wouldn't have any for a month. Seriously? For something that common?

Anyway, grats on your dad pulling through for you. Those little snake loaches look cool.

Also, those tetras should be fine if they're big.

I bought a Paradise fish a while back from my LFS and put it in my 10 gallon (sadly my Acei Cichlid murdered it) My LFS carries any and all freshwater fish you can think of

Lol, fishman. There are people out there who have those types of aquariums. The LFS that didn't have the fish I wanted had several fully grown red tailed catfish, regular catfish, some type of ray big enough to ride on, etc. Every major cichlid tank (except oscars) had a fully grown adult for size reference.

My LFS has every Major cichlid as well but a huge variety of Africans including the Albino variety's. They also keep Brakish and Saltwater fish in pretty good stock

I'm jealous of your guys' LFSs! Mine don't carry hardly anything and what they do carry is usually really poor stock (sometimes you get lucky, especially with the more expensive LFS).

does the LFS carry blue swordtails? now that is supposed to be a rare breed.

They've HAD them before, i know that, they look like Cotton candy blue or Ocean blue

that is then quite impressive. never seen blue swordtails around where i live. I doubt there are any in NJ.

Does your LFS have Salvini cichlids? How about Cuban Cichlids? Dovii's? HMPKS?

Yes they have Salvini's and Cubans. Theyve had tiny Dovii fry before and what is a HMPKS?

HMPKs = Halfmoon Plakats from what I've read (another man-made variety of the Betta splendens).

Yes, HMPK is a halfmoon plakat. It is actually a variant of the plakat finnage (which I believe plakats are naturally found in the wild, yes?). The reason it receives the "halfmoon" designation is because it's tail, when fully flared, forms a 180 degree arc. Regular plakats do not.
