How do I lower the temperature in my 5 gallon tank, in my room that has an average temperature of 72 degrees, in the middle of my kitchen, where I have the lights off most of the time. I have an florescent light (which I've turned off as well.) I don't want my fish to overheat! Right now, the tank is fluctuating between 78 and 82 degrees.

depending on the fish, I think that temperature range is just fine.
Right now there are just pristellas. Eventually, guppies, neons, danios, and other similar fish. I'm mostly worried about what's going to happen to the temperature during the summer.

Only idea I've had is to put a fan running close to the tank. It's never really in direct sunlight, and it has a fluorescent light.

As Toma... said, the temp range is just fine. There will be some some temp fluctuation, although fluorescent lights run fairly cool, but as long as it is gradual and within the range you said, it will be fine.
