The Betas!

I was gonna go to PetCo, which there is only 2 in the state, both is about 20 miles away, after going with my mother to the doctor. Before that, she had to exchange something at a store and there is a PetsMart next to it. I went inside to look at the Betas and found many CrownTails!!! I came down to the best 3 and chosen only 2. Yes, I got me blue gravels with brite green plants for the one tank I got for them both. Oh, its a dividing tank.

I never knew about CrownTails until I discovered it online yesterday. First time I saw it in person today and mom was shocked. So many years of having Betas (10+), we finally seen the CrownTails.

Just got home and mom left for her appointment. I'm gonna set up the tank and mom gonna be back in about an hour. Yes, I live alone.

You do know that you still have to cycle the tank, right? Also I have heard of a betta jumping over the divider and fighting the other one.

Gerald, please do not scare me. I forgot to breathe for a moment there. As for Betas, they breathe the air, so its not important to cycle the tank, especially for small Beta tanks that do not have filters. I've Betas for many years in small tanks w/out any filters. Please do not scare me about Betas doing the jump over the divider...

I remember losing a mother Beta, she just mated and such. I put her in her destinated cup. I guess she was frantic of losing her babies, because I found her on the carpet a short time later. The babies lived for a few hours.

I have the same tank that you do Thunder and I have a blue divder in it and one jumped over it and shredded the other on butit lived and the fins grew back.
So i take it you hve a CLEAR divder in that tank?

They're very pretty bettas. You might want to think about getting a colored divider for that tank, otherwise they are probably always going to be flaring at each other. Also the fact that bettas breathe air doesn't have an impact on the fact that the tank still needs to be cycled. The fact that you haven't cycle the previous betta tanks merely means that you always did a fish in cycle.

I've never used any filters for any of my Beta tanks. Only time a Beta (male and some females) enjoyed a filtered tank was within the 10G community tank. Every week, I always change the complete water and wash the gravels and plant.

Are you saying that the good bacterias will develop in the tank without any filters?

Yes, the divider is clear. Where do I get a color divider? I'm still worried about the 'planned kill'. The tank is kinda like flat on the back and pointy front. I got it at PetsMart.

I'm broke right now. I was going to get two of the 2 gallons tanky at WalMart, but not enough money. I wasn't thinking about this tanky with the divider.

actually you can get a 2.5 tank with divider also.

Thanks Marie! WalMart has those, but I didnt know if there was a divider with it. Maybe this specific model does. I'm checking it out!

Marie, I was reading reviews and one said that Betas are squeezing their way thru the divider and go on a rampage kill. Was it a false review from another company of a different tank maker?

Never heard of fish getting through. Could be a hoax to not get people to buy it.

I am ordering it right now with a credit card. I was wanting the 5, but it doesn't include a divider, so I am getting the 2.5. They did not have a green theme to match my living room, so I got the blue theme to match my bedroom.

Update - Already ordered it and have it on 1 day shipping. It sucks that 1 day shipping is actually 2 days. Why? Order today, shipped tomorrow, arrives the next day. Thats a total of 2 days from order date to wait.
