Well, did you actually even fet to begin the move or did they die in overnight before the move. I am sorry to ask you to relive it here, but can you tell me somethings to watch out for or something you would have done differently? I am not actually breaking the tank down until the day of the move and then when they go back in it will have new substrate and decorations and live plants.

They were the last to pack..always pack the fish last! I have a 110 so it would have taken a while to set up and get ready for the fish. I took 15 gallons with me in the cooler and was going to keep them all inthere until the tank was up and running. The Eel was the worst of the 3 as far as stress goes. He tried to jump out of the cooler when anyone opened the box to check on them. He hit his head pretty hard and I think that it was all down hill from then on for him. The gourami I had was a kissing Gourami and she was pretty big, I don't really know what killed her. I think it was the temp. The Albino ACF....I can't tell what killed him either? My guess is that the temp was too high...the reader only went up to 86f and then if it got any higher I wouldn't tell. I failed to mention that. The heater was faulty and I didn't replace it. SO it could have literally boiled them alive. The Gourami and Frog were pretty pink. Gosh , I feel horrible. I really thought that I could make it! :(

I think they probably suffocated. If you had the lid on the cooler closed, they ran out of oxygen. I had a fish die when I moved from lack of oxygen. It was the night before we moved and I had the rubbermaid tubs CHOCK FULL of plants, all floating on top, and the surface fo the water was completely covered by plants. THe morning of moving day when I woke p, my fish were gasping at the surface for )2, and one fish was dead already. Fortunately for me it was a bala shark that some friends had put in my tank as a a gift for me while I was away on vacation a couple weeks before.

I know you posted this a long time ago, but am hoping you have moved on buy now to more fish. These things happen. I had a bunch of fry die on me cause of a bad heater and of course the same night my filter decided to quit working. Its not your fault. I would think they could make better products by now in this day and age. I have had so many heaters give out on me, it's not even funny. I even duel heat tanks now ( two small heaters- rather than one) just because of this. That way I know they will have at least one working in case the other poops out. But, in your case, it hard with overheating. I have had that also, but have always caught it in time. Good luck to you with your new fish, if you got some.....
