Yea, I've been using fish food and squeezing some water in from the filter pads from the 45. I also put some gravel from that tank into the 55. This tank did have fish in it at one point, so the gravel wasn't spotless. It all seems to be working.

i think you should add pure ammonia instead... its much faster and w/o the phosphates of fish food.

In fish cycle will be kinda slower. as long as the ammo and nitrites are low you can try the molly.

I think I'm gonna go the ammonia route. I really don't like the idea of subjecting any fish to what might happen to them. I mean the whole point of waiting for the tank to cycle to begin with is so it will be safe for fish. I did buy some today, haven't added it yet, but will later. Thanks for the reply.
