thinking of getting betta fish

Does the betta really need heat or can the water be room temp??? I have decided to get the hexagon tank but once my goldfish passes I will move betta into goldfish's bowl. Had him for 3 years now but don't know how long they live for. The most I had a goldfish was 5 years so who knows.

um goldies can live for along long long time. So are you going to still get that tiny hex for the betta? why not get the one I got for Eddie it's a 1 gal and it was 11.00 at petco.

I have a 1.5 gallon tank, its a half hex shape - makes it easy to setup against a wall, and it is definitely small enough to put on a nightstand. and my betta is doing wonderfully! and, inmy opinion, i would think that the hole in the bottom would be a lot more of a hassle than an aide..but thats just what i would think. Hope you find something that will work out

well I am getting a 2 gal tank now its been decided. I just have to find a ornament for my new friend but I will wait a while. My new firend should be coming into his new home this afternoon. I am sooo excited.

about the food issue, i feed all my bettas blood worms. i get them at petsmart in the freezers. i have 4 females and 2 males and all of them LOVE blood worms.

bettas can live up to 5 years if you keep them at optimal condition on average 3 years. I have 3 vt 2 ct 1 female ct 1HM and this Friday 2 more HM

blood worms should be a "treat" not as a daily food.
