I don't know that it is a BAD idea. It looks kind of cool there. I'd be a little concerned if the bed moves too much away from the wall, it could hit the tank in a bad spot (right at the bottom of the tank, top of the stand). I personally move around too much when I'm sleeping and have had instances where I find my feet sticking through the end of my footboard, so that is not a place I would put a fishtank lol I feel like tanks are safer against the wall because it is at least protected on one side :) But if you think it is secure there then cool. You know your habits and such better than anyone!

It has become a peninsula style tank. It should be okay as long as the bed doesn't move and hit it.

I have a tank right near my bed (though it is off to the side) so I can watch it in the morning while I'm dragging myself towards wakefulness.

lol CAPS I like that. There aren't any fish in there yet but this morning I rolled over there and stared at the tank. I can't see the one on my dresser because I'm blind in the morning without my glasses or contacts, but I can see this one pretty well while half asleep. It doesn't make contact with the bed, nor do any movements on the bed disturb it. My boyfriend thought it looked cool, and didn't seem concerned, so I think I'll keep it there. :D Thank you all for your help.
