There is one little fry who is picking on the black mollies, but leaves the gold dust alone and runs away from the danios.

There are 9 babies, and I am asking several of my friends if they want some, because 12 mollies in a 10g will not end well.

They are getting to be (from head to tail) gold, silver, black, and some are getting a little white on their tails.

Here are some pics of a Danio, Cory, and babies!

They start to show their genders at about an inch in length. It's always different for everyone, but check daily since it happens quickly. I went to school with 7 female platy fry and came back with 3 males. XD

They are about 3/4 inch long, now. They are also starting to grow their pelvic fins (crazy google...).

That one baby was getting so that it was actually tearing off small pieces of the mollies' fins. I put him in the 'naughty net' (breeder net) for a 'time out'. :p

Today, I did a water change, put the babies back in the 5.5g, and the betta in his bowl (works best with all the fish that way). I should probably stop moving them around, but my mom owns a daycare in our house, and we moved the 10g into the living room so that the kids can see the fish. My mom wants me to keep the babies in the 10g until we think they are getting too big. They are too big. Do you think I left anything out? :p

Depends on if you keep up with the water changes to handle the fry. I'm surprised that they're growing this fast despite the ammonia in your tank.

Also, the fry are born with pectoral fins. They're just translucent so they're hard to see. Keep the fin nipping fry with the betta. He'll survive, but it'll teach him a lesson. Heheh.

Also, once the fry reach an inch, give them away. You MIGHT be able to keep one. Give the rest to petsmart, if they take them.

That's the point. :p this weekend I'm going to petsmart to see if a male betta catches my eye. I'm putting him with my kuhlis and hoping that everything goes well. It's probably going to be a dragon plakat. If not plakat, then at least a dragon.

Sladespider - you seem to post random statements on various thread so I don't know just where to respond to the statement you just made about "glad we reminded you to get a test kit" I guess that means that in spite of everything we have said you still don't own one.

Lol thanks, but thyra dos have a point. I think that I don't need one considering that I can go to my lfs (if I don't have a ride then it's an hour walk there) and get it tested for free. Btw, the picture is a betta dragon. Look it up on google images, 'betta dragon deviantart'.

The problem is, I need a test kit, but the ones at walmart that are strips are realle expensive, but probably worth it if it will save my fish's lives. There are only 2 there. One that is a 5-in-1 (Nitrate, Nitrite, Ph, and 2 more that I have no idea what they are). The other one tests for Ammonia. They are both $12!!

The test strips aren't that good. Just save up for a $20 liquid test kit. They come with Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, pH, and Hardness. It's worth it, although I should be the one talking since I don't have one. xD
