What is your favorite Rams or Kribs?

I haven't gotten anymore fish cause i am wating to see if i can get some Xiphophorus Montezumae swords or not, if i can' then i might just get like 5-6 of them (rams) and put them in there own tank where they won't get bullied as much, but i will still keep an eye on the other rams to make sure that they won't put any stress on the others:p

I like kribs (Pelvicachromis pulcher) 1,000 time better than blue/german/gold rams (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi). Ramirezi are just a bit too gaudy for my taste. A little too sensitive to water conditions (nitrates really) and though you could keep them easily enough in harder water they don't thrive in it and good luck spawning them in anything other than their proper conditions. They don't live very long either.
However, I do love the Bolivian ram (M. altispinosa). Not as "attractive" as a blue ram, as some folks would say. IMO they're beautiful, grow a little larger, are a little easier to keep and have a little more attitude than the blue.
Kribs are great, very pretty, charming and easy to spawn! BUT - If I had to choose between kribs and Bolivian rams I'd choose Bolivian rams.

The tank that they are currently in is a 55G tank. So i am planning on putting the kribs in there own tank, i have two 29G tanks that are currently empty:rolleyes: But all together i have four tanks.
75G-Swordtails
55G-Community
29G-Empty
29G-Empty

So i am going to use a 29G tank to breed my fish in, then i am planning on ordering some Xiphophorus Montezumae swordtails to put in my other 29G and not in my 75G so then they can breed and I will have "pure bred" swordtails. Like i said earlyer, i am going to put the kribs in a 29G so then they breed in peace, and use that tank over and over again for my other fish in my community.

And if you would like, i can add a list of the fish in my 55G so then you know what fish are in there with the kribs.

My $.02 worth:

I think you need to stop for a little bit, and think about what you really want to focus on. It's awesome that you want to do all that you've been talking about doing, but that's a lot of work for one person to take on. If it were me I would pick what most interests me right now, and focus on that for a while untill I'm sure that I've got the kinks worked out, and everything is going well. This way you can give your attention and time to the fish that need it most, and it won't be spread out over so many fish that most of them end up neglected in some way or another.

Not that you have to do this, but something you may want to think about. :)

Well i am only 13 yrs. old, so i still live with my parents. My dad is the one who got me in to fish. So he can help me, and then my dad's friend is also in to fish(my parents are devorced so that is why i have so many tanks).

So they can help me. here is a list of the fish in my 55G:
4 Silver dollars, 2 killies, 5 cory's, 1 female betta, 2 golden gourami's, 1 female ram, 2 kribs, 3 tetras, and 2 angels.

So there is my list of fish in that tank. and also, some of my fish died from old age.
