Which Medicine works for red streaks, patches. There are so many to choose from.

Hello.

There are so many different type of fish medication which seem to all target the same bacteria infection.(red streaks, red patches)

Does anyone have any recommendation of which medication works best?

Right now I'm using Jungle Fungus Eliminator from jungle. I am not sure if this is the best product to use but it said that it will cure fungus and bacteria.

I guess my problem is mainly bacteria. Jungle also makes Binox wich said it does the same thing.

I have also seen Maracyn-Two, Maracyn-one, MarOxy, Tetracycline and Tri Sulfa from Mardel Labs.

How do I pick the right medication? Is there a product I should avoid. Please give me some recommendation. I have very limited time because my fish are not eating. I need to get something that will work fast and effectively.

First of all, have you checked your nitrites and ammonia? Those often cause the disease.

Other than that, use a broad-spectrum antibiotic. The Mardel fish care sheet recommend-s using Maracyn-Two for red streaks.
