Why are people spelling pleco "pl*co"?

he gets bigger everyday, catfishmike. Maybe too fast. Are there any blessings to slow him down. bought him at 1 and a half inches, now he is pushing 6 inches. I only had him for 2 months. He was the sole survivor of my cycling process (knew nothing when I started) so I will never get rid of him. I'm even buying a bigger tank just so I can get him out of my 30 gallon.
