Sorry to say but thats not much better than what I can see in the current photos.
Get some practice in and it becomes easier. When I was starting out taking pics (not that I'm much better at it now *laughingc ) the flash feature would help. Make sure you're at an ok distance from the fish for them to come out clearer. Sometimes too close will fuz up a shot since the cam doesn't have time to, or can't, focus.
As for how much time you have before a that 55 becomes absolutely necessary - I'd say till they reached 3 inches, which is just about the time they'll start maturing sexually. Good news is that in the 55 you can introduce more, as slighly "overcrowding" them helps with aggression issues. *thumbsups

I would agree that the yellow looks like an Elec Yellow based of the brightness, however I have seen some Yellow Zebras(I believe they are) that are also pretty bright, main difference is the black edge on their fins (correct me if i'm wrong). I'd also agree that the orange one is a red zebra, however I have no clue why it is a RED zebra and not an ORANGE Peel or Orange zebra.*laughingc
blue guy, your guess is as good as mine.

as for the pics, flash is deffinatly good unless you can really get some bright lighting in your tank so that the lens flutter is to a minimum. Profile shots, like stated, always look great. You need to remember with the flash, take it slightly on an angle so that the flash doesn't bounch back in your face. And just try to snap a picture before the fish is actually in the position you want. Mine don't stay still very long so if I wait for a good shot, they've already moved.

There are many Mbuna in which different sexes can be yellow, and i've seen yellow labs with very faded black lines on the fins. Main reason i say its a yellow lab is because of that white you see on its Anal fin. You typically don't see that in other yellow fish such as Salousi or Kenyi.

But it can show up in Lab. caeruleus x M. estherae hybrids.
Petsmart is now selling straight up "yellow zebras", the lab x red zebra hybrids, but their tag still says they're "Maylandia estherae". How many other chains might start carrying them or carry them already? I've seen them in a few local shops as well. If we can't see the black edging on the dorsal at the very least I would not say with any certainty that it's a Lab. caeruleus. ;)
The blue, I would't be satisfied with M. johannii. I gave it thought but couldn't say for sure since the fish seems to be a bit uncharacteristically thick for M. johannii. Further, when's the last time you saw a real M. johannii and not not some variable, M. interruptus or M. johannii x M. interruptus or M. johannii x M. cyanoerhabdos or M. interruptus x M. cyanorhabdos. I personally believe that unless you're buying "johannii" from reputable sources, it's highly unlikely you have a true M. johannii and any found in today's mixed and matched and misbred tanks should be identified simply as "johannii types". :)
