Yellow Lab Questions

I think it is interesting how the bars on yellow labs can change. Sometimes they go away and only appear when stressed, some labs can be darker than others. My dominant male doesn't have any vertical bars at all and the sub-dominant one will display them when he is stressed or upset. Sometimes if the water quality becomes bad (like high Nitrates) I notice the bars are more predominant.
