OH DUDE THAT IS A SAVIGE TANK, I want a tank like that, I get into salt water and spend all the money and get some hairy green live rock, lol, no nice tank man, I want to go over to reef, but not till I get comunity down, lol. *celebrate

Yup, my LR sucks. But hey, it isn't even LR ! Mostly base rock that ( one day ) will become some real LR. I see purple spots...coralline is beginning to show. Got like 20 % LR and 80 % base rock. Shouldn't have started with that..but no $$ = that. The pic must be very bad, 'cause i don't have hairy algae. Got some green spot algae on the glass, the only one that i can't get rid of, and i have green coralline on one rock only ( yup it seems to exist ).
Found a spot with awesome LR with really great shapes...and it's cured.
Can't wait to get my $$$ and get some. At least my base rock + substrate seems to be very well alive since my params are now good and steady.

well the encrusting algae a little bit like coralline..very hard to scratch off the glass. May not be the real nane either.

yes I also have a little it's a cracker to get off the glass huh, lol nice tank though dude, If you dont mind me asking, how many snails and crabs do you have in there *PEACE!*

a straight razor blade will take care of that stuff no problem on the glass

give them a little time yamaha. if after a couple weeks you are still finding they can't keep up then maybe get some more. i would save for those powerheads
