WOW! I didnt even realize that you had Discus Fuzz! Very cool! I dont think your tank is over stocked at all. And also the Angel thats in there is just fine, both fish are often kept together. Love the Discus!! :p

i think i got my first discus like...2 years ago maybe? maybe not...year and a half or so. :)
they all died from a disease i couldnt identify after a breedin pair of rams started pickin on them...that sphed charector harassed me about it and what not.
ya that angel has grown up wit discus from quarter size, he is a bit mentally retarded though. lol he swims upside down and does backflips and what not. but he is really healthy

plants:
red wentii
java moss
java fern
pygmy chain sword
melon sword
apongtas or somethin.
and a couple lilys

and i dont really plan on babyin the plants or anythin. i did the whole plant thing awhile ago and it just proved to much work sometimes.

here are some older pictures of the tank with plants though when they thrived really well.

this is back when i was just gettin into discus again. i saw the royal and i HAD to have her. i couldnt say no to her.

this picture is actually when i got my first discus. who sadly died...they were beautiful too. i am still sore over that.

Those are some great looking fish there and they seem to like the camera. Usually I prefer tanks with a background, but with your fish I think your tank looks a really good without a background!

The solid red fuzz in the first few pics. I call that a melon, vendors have different names for them all.

I'll post pics once they are back home settled in :) Lets just say....mmmmm. Its a long time coming. I've wanted fish from Discus Hans ever since Fishboy posted on this board years ago LOL. He always tempted me with his red turk pair.

lol whatever makes them happy lotus :) i guess thats all that matters. and surely yo can still see them a bit :)

and the bg needs to be put up but i am neglectin doin it and keep puttin it out of mind when i think to

doin discus in a bigger tank would make me so happy, but 75g is as big as i can go at home. maybe a 90g....but that would be pushin it a bit. my dad has been havin to do a lot of tank maintenace with me bein prego and now always exhausted and hes not so big on that. def do a big tank if yo ever do discus., whiskers. yo will be happy yo did!

mmmk...ya he was sold as a mandarin but who knows. :) i know for sure there is a melon in the last pic though.

discus hans has GREAT stock. he supplies the lps i work at and even though some are unimpressive, some are very very nice. did yo get to see his stock or anythin?

Oh yeah, Hans had a whole room to himself lined with 55gals. He had pretty much every colorform he sells there in 2"-5" in size. Good prices. Got to hand pick my fish straight from his stock. He helped me pick some out, watched him catch them, and bag them! Such a nice guy.

Unfortunently the best fish don't always get sent to the LFS, At least they never look as good as the others to me. Some gems though.

I guess you are right, mandarin is the correct name for it.....it slipped my mind.

what kinda prices did he have them for, matt?
i know like the fire discus sell for 119$ at 4" at my lps...which is way overpriced but my manager doesnt care. he buys them at like 27$ea. too i think.

i would love to see his fish someday. that and jack wattleys. i would love to cherry pick out of both their tanks. :)

thanks BV...when yo gonna try discus? lol. yo know their a little more challengin to breed but yo have magical water so i bet yo would get eggs quick

well my 180 gal is still empty......... but would a euptrus and a columbian shark get along with discus ????? would the discus leave them alone ??? i deffinatly want to put my shark and euptrus in the 180.....

i would say the featherfin (euptrus) would be fine with the discus, its been done before anyways by people without problems. though they dont do so well in higher tempertures probably that discus need...round 80-82F. and they are from africa so i beleive they perfer higher PHs too

the columbian shark, IMHO, doesnt even belong in an aquarium. they get to big even for a 180g. i wouldnt put him wit discus.

this is all just my opinion though. most people will say discus only tanks and some people get fish like oscars to live peacefully wit discus.

Id say a columbian would do fine but it might eat euptrus when it gets bigger.

If the shark was my fish id take back the shark and get a Lima Shovelnose Cat for a 180.
