kinda hard to see with the small pic but it almost looks like a female red shoulder peacock as well. or at least like mine. but female peacocks look so much the same it's hard to tell at times.

I'd like to see your pics of these female kenyi...because either you and your "kenyi-breeding" buddy don't have kenyi or you're not very good at distinguishing between the hundres of blue/blackish stripped cichlids

"QUIG PRO QUOE"-sorry, for the uneducated who cannot understand what this means.

To be exact:I do own some kenyi and "have"owned them.I was stating to the post that i think its a juvenille kenyi. Some of the kenyi i have owned have been a real darker color than some of the kenyi i have owned. This was because i used a dark set-up of rocks soooo my little guys at the time where dark.

My brand new babies are a vibrant blue and white color. So im assuming your ready for the proof?Because all i hear is barking?

Little blurry,These are my new babies."Yes!!! Sin im sorry we do infact breed these guys"

Now here is "Bronson" my oldest kenyi hanging out with jamimma.

Can you list over 100 cichlid species by phylum, animilia, and kingdom?Since i doubt it!You could atleast tell me the scientific/latin name for the Kenyi species? Can i?Yes, because i am getting a degree in Freshwater/ichthyology at VPI (Virginia Tech)5 years with one year left for a masters and three for a P.H.D.To succeed, i "Have" to know those things and do.

Sorry Sin,since you dont know what a ichthyologist is? Its a scientist who studies fish.

Your kenyi are either mutts or extremely poor quality. I would NEVER breed them myself.
Just because someone knows more than you do about cichlids doesn't mean you insult them.YOU called me out and i showed the proof. Nice response.

My kenyi are mutts? or extremely poor quality? LOL hahaha, ok!
Your right! You would not breed them because, you DONT know how.

Remember Sin!We love, take care, and adore our fish.NOT EAT THE FISH.Tropical fish should be left in the tanks.

You don't need to know how to breed kenyi. Put them in water, they'll breed. Which is how you end up with hybrid and low quality fish like the ones you have.

You don't know more about cichlids than me, we both know that. I called you out and was right. The only things you proved were 1) your kenyi are far less than what an idea breeding kenyi should be, and 2) you have no idea how to tell cichlids apart since you apparently think the fish in question is a kenyi and looks just like yours.

But it's been nice bantering with you, enjoy oblivion world, I'm pretty much done here.

Ok i guess i have to repeat myself since your ignorance is in the way.Yes, you called me out on breeding and have them.I showed you pics of my kenyi and i explained in clear writting "I owned darker kenyi that looked like julez" Not my new ones.I can tell from your typing that your not that educated, but i wont nag on you for that.

Thanks for the banter! You have stirred quite some laughs in my department.
Always a pleasure!

REMEMBER this ,just incase your ignorance gets in the way:

LOVE YOUR FISH,DONT EAT THEM!!!!!!

I agree with sinister on this as well. the fish in question looks nothing like a kenyi. the fish in question looks like a female peacock of some sort.
I respect your opinion exhumed:I was just showing pictures of some of my new kenyi.Sin was saying i didnt have them.So i showed them! They look nothing like the picture in this question.I KNOW THIS.

Be that as it may:peacock,Mbuna(which it is clearly not),kenyi:Whatever the fish may be?A better picture of the little guy would help.Just throwin an opinion out there.Sit on it and think?

My old kenyi which was a little darker than julez stayed a constant dark color because of my black gravel and dark background.
