I just moved my 2 angels from the 37 to the 55 with the other angels and my lone Discus. Maybe 2 of the angles will pair up? I also successfully overdrived (is that even a word?) my light!
I was told no (by SEVERAL people who breed GBRs). I was concerned about having a mated pair of GBRs with cories in the tank, but I was told that the GBRs only see similarly-sized fish as threats and since my cories are panda cories (stay very small), they wouldn't be a problem. If I had bigger cories (like my albinos which are the same size as my male GBR at this point), it might be a problem, but if I had places for the cories to hide, it shouldn't be too big of a deal.
40 gallon is plenty, and as bass said there is little risk, especially in a tank as big as that. the GBRs will just claim a territory and all other fish will keep to the other side of the tank. shouldnt be problems...
I love cories! I found some today on AquaBid that I would LOVE to have...but they're EXPENSIVE ($12 EACH)! They're called "corydoras C121". Here's the link to the AquaBid auction I found them on.
I think four of those would look AWESOME in my 29gal...but I can't afford them. Maybe if I get this job at Goodwill...(I'll find out Thursday if the position is actually available).
Hehe! I would have done the same. That and I think pandas are just about the most adorable things ever.
I just got some pretty good pics of my fishes. Put a mirror next to Emmett's tank and he went absolutely nuts. lol Put the mirror next to Amun's tank and he was like "Oh look. Another betta. This is all the flare you're getting, buddy" and did kind of a half-hearted flare. His fins are looking so raggedy and bleh. Poor old man.
My friend did the line drawing. That's Amun when I first got him. He flared out and I snapped a pic of it with my camera phone. Unfortunately, that pic is in my old Photobucket account that I can't access and I don't have the phone that took the pic anymore.
There should be a little plastic piece to make it level, mounted to the motor. I have some that are broken, so I just use a small piece of pressure treated wood as a spacer.
