Have i spent more than 36 dollars at 1 time thyra? thats how much that testkit costs, anywhere you go.
I got mine for $25 at my lfs lol. =P Some people also tend to learn fastwer about fishkeeping then others. I spent my whole summer last year researching and I learned a LOT. The first time I seriously went into my lfs I bought over $100 of fish supplies in that one day. I have currently used up all my money and no longer have a bank account. XD I even used the 10 gallon tank that was from my Bearded Dragon when he was only a few months old. He;s currently in a 75 gallon tank and he's huge!! I love all of my animals to death and I guess having experience with other animals and loving animals so much made me determined to learn how to keep fish properly and keep them alive. Now, I'm not yelling at you or even scowling right now, lol, I'm just trying to share my experience with other people. keep trying Fishman!! I'm sure you'll get it!! Maybe just take some time off, too. Only have your Betta and get up money and research about other bigger tanks and fish. Good luck!!

While you are waiting for Christmas why don't you go back and read your older posts? Just maybe you will get some helpful in site about yourself like: "I also love to overstock, always turned out bad until i got into Crays, i guess ive been lucky so far with this one. But in the past it always causes an overload and kills them all." While you are at it make a list of all the fish you had in the past year and what they cost. At one point you said you had your Mom talked into $40 for shrimp - no problem. You see, Fishman, all along you had choices and the test kit was always low man on the totem pole because obviously you don't really think you need it. You have gone through a lot of fish in this past year!

Ya know, when i do get my testkit, it'l be amazing to finally see a thread where people dont take me to the cleaners of a testkit, may i ask how thats gonna help? All it does is tell you if you got an amonia, nitrite or nitrate spike, and why does that matter, all you do is do a water change, which i do almost everyday anyway, and fix it. I dont understand why a testkit is SOOOOOO important. And might i ask how not having the testkit is causing my fishes deaths, cause thats what your trying to make it seem as. The reason most of my fish have died is overstocked tank, or incompatible tankmates, which this time wasnt my fault as i didnt know Ferdnan would kill my kuhli's which im certain is what happened now, now that ive heard from my uncle. He said the kuhli's wouldnt even come out, obviously because ferdnan would attack them. And ya know, i dont see people on Monsterfishtank.com, Cichlidforum.com or Shelldwellers.com hecklering me about a Testkit. Odd, your the only forum? hmmm guess its just a coincidence

Nice to see things haven't changed in my time away from the forum...

Why wait to do things right next time? I don't see why you can't just do things right now. Especially since we do hear this again and again and nothing changes, you don't learn.

A test kit is a total necessity because, when your fish die (and it's always a case of when, not if with you, isn't it?) you can actually determine the ACTUAL cause of death as opposed to making ridiculous assumptions like they're "annual guppies". And your "you just do a water change" and fix it comment pretty much sums up where you continue to go wrong, you never go to the root of the issue, just cover up short term and then it's only a matter of time until it happens again. Unless you change what's CAUSED the parameter spike (be it overstocking, overfeeding, under-filtering, whatever) you will continue to get spikes, and your fish will continue to die.

Seriously fishman, take some responsibility. You choose your fish, therefore it's ultimately your fault they're not compatible. Good fishkeeping comes with good research which I think you seriously need to grasp. This is why members of this forum get so impatient with you, it's the same old story. Those sites above haven't had to deal with this vicious cycle a countless number of times, have they?

Just my 2 cents.

And seeing as how you won't go back and read some of your posts - here's a couple that go right to the fact that the fish could have bee saved with a test kit.

"No mam, im the worst fish keeper on this site because i dont gravel vacume and im kinda lazy with water changes. Which is why i have given up atm until i can do better at it with my own house where i... "

And from 02/09/11

“What i said there was true, i did a 25% water change and my fish were all at the top rapidly breathing. I didnt want them to suffer so i uthenized them." -- YOU didn't want them to suffer?? Ever occur to you why they were suffering?? You just killed them!

My wife Marilyn teaches first grade and she has a little saying that she teaches the first graders (do what you always do, get what you always got)

This would be a good lesson for some people to learn.

Guys, I think this should just be let go. Some people will do what they want, its as simple as that. I feel people are wasting time here when there are people who are asking for help who want to learn.

Any? Just pm me. All is well.:)

If someone killed as many puppies as he has fish they'd be charged with animal cruelty. But since fish are much smaller and less expensive and they're not even mammals or anything we should just mind our own business while he continually brings more and more of them home to be tortured to death. Thanks for spelling it out, I didn't realize what jerks we've all been!

ps- I'm being sarcastic.
