i have been told that in a large enough tank with the rocks setup in 2 seprate piles you can keep fish that you normally wouldnt keep together since ther are actualy 2 reefs... thats how they have it setup at my lfs only its a 400 gallon tank

I am considering lyretail anthias, MushroomMan recommended them, too.
I love mine. He's not too picky about feeding times either. Definitely the dominate fish over the clown, wrasse, and angel. If I do ever forget to feed him, he'll splash some water up to remind me. At my store, we've got some gorgeous Indian Ocean lyretail males (bright red vs. the trad. pink). We put one with 3 bright orange females.

Love the setup too.

It looks like the cycle/curing is well underway. Ammonia is at 6 ppm and nitrites are at more than 5 ppm. Will do a small water change tomorrow and clean up some of the dead stuff.

Edit: We just dug up an actinic and a 12,000K CF bulb from an old fixture, so it looks a little more like a saltwater tank now. We're only running the lights a few hours a day right now. We only have 110 watts over the tank, but I think it will be fine until we go reef. Any thoughts on the current lighting for FOWLR?

Well, I have 20-30W (I forget) over my 45g tall and it looks fine... the fish can definitely tell the difference also because as soon as it's off they go to bed. So I assume that 1WPG would be even better.
