alright so here is the tank today:

the middle rock looks much better in person than before i scrubbed it! and last night i saw my first pod!!!! also gary seems to have some itty bitty friends, ive counted 2 very small snails today.

w00+ tank is cycled!!!! ammonia is at 0, nitrite is 0,a nd nitrate is 16! yaya....im really suprised it went so quick...but now i have to figure out what i wnat to do with the tank! any suggestions?

alrighty, so today i replaced the powerhead with an Odyssea EX250 as i finally read the label that said dont put the AC3000 in SW...oops lol. tomorrow i plan on going to the good SW LFS round here and getting at least a clean up crew....but right now i really want to build something for the tank, buying stuff makes me feel so, well, normal! anybody got any ideas? i was thinking a 10gal Sump but i couldnt find any plans for an overflow that would look decent in this tank...and NO im not going to drill it. anywhoo, any of yall got any ideas?

okay now i REALLY want to build a sump....lol, but i dont have much acess to tools so im thinking i might have to buy a premade Overflow...im just having a hard time of thinking of a way to hide it so it doesnt stand out...hmmm

alright, back to my monologue....lol

so now i am thinking of drilling the tank using the dermel technique then using a largeish rubbermaid as a sump/fug. , anybody got any comments/ideas?

just to help me under stand. You are planing a 10 Gal sump on your 5 Gal tank? I would go for a 10 gal sump on a 10 gal tank, but that is just me.
I am just thinking and you will have a big turnover rate in that tank. Even if you get a small pump like the smaller mag drive 1.5, it still pumps 30 GPH at 5 feet. Turn over rate of 6 time an hour. I just thing that you would have too much current in a little tank.

lol, right now i have ~300GPH in the tank anyway, flow is not a problem.

i was thinking of upping it to a ten, but i really dont like the dimensions of a ten as compared to a 5.5.

^^iuts not really that strong, its only ~55 turn over rate, iv had higher in a FW River tank.

but i think im not going to drill after all as it wouldnt be following the most important nano rule...KISS
