Hmmmm yeah that would look cool. But with the LR, I currently have, I'm not sure if I could do that...and with the CRAPPY dimentions of the tank I dont know if there'd be enough room

Looking nice! I like your new corals!

I can't help you with an ID on that last one though :(

I'm surprised your still having to battle that hair algae, I figured it would have cleared up by now  Any new strategies your going to try? (aside from pulling it off by hand  )

The last one is a favia. Favia polyps each have their own wall, while favites share a wall with the polyp next to them.

If you've switched to RO, it could take several months of water changes to get rid of "nasties" from the tapwater. I'd start running something like Poly-Filter or Chemi-Pure to get some of the stuff out... unless you've found phosphates in there.

Thanks for the comments! :D

I was told the water is RO but then again, my dad buys it from some water place and I never go personally...Next time I'll go to the place and ask.
What I have noticed though, is that the hair algae is getting really easy to pull off. Before it was like drilled into the rock now I can rip it off in sheets...Its weird
Maybe today while my mom is cookin the turkey for thanksgiving I'll pull out some of the hair algae lol

Question about my Favia,
I've been reading that they send out sweeper tentacles at night (just like my cynaria brain) But my Cynaria's tentacles are really short, so how long are the favias tentacles? And where it is now, is that far enough away from the polyps so it wont sting them?

Ok thanks, I think its far enough away for now too.

One other thing...since I now have 2 LPS in the tank, I should start dosing calcium right? I dont know what my readings are right now because I dont have a test kit for that, but I should be dosing for both of them right?

Wow, you really need to invest in some test kits! How unhappy would you be if all your corals die and you don't know why?

Do not add anything before you've tested. Yes, you may need to add calcium and alkalinity, but you have to test first.

Get yourself some good test kits so you can work out what's going on in your tank. :)

in a 5g it isnt necessary to add anything for ca/Alk ... regular water changes should replenish all trace elements,Ca ect... still get a Ca test kit only if its low do a waterchange ;) oh and that light wont be enough for lps in a 10g :p
