His blue is more sky blue than those pictures show. He's a little ham. I personally love the halfmoons the most out of any tail variation. I have had veiltails, crowntails, delta tails and halfmoons. The only variation I haven't had is plakat (trying to remedy that, though!). But out of the variations I've had, halfmoons are by far my favorite.
In his tank it's play sand right now, but sometime this week I'm going to be redoing his tank (FINALLY!) and it's going to have pool filter sand because it's SO much easier to deal with than play sand. Easier to clean, easier to work with when you're scaping, doesn't billow up like play sand can. If you want to see what it looks like, take a look at my 55gal "epic fail" thread. I think Tristan may have been a little older and the stress of the 55gal going Chernobyl, then playing "musical tanks" was just too much for him.
