ok well i moved all my LR over to the said ewith no sand then i moved the powerhead so it faced teh surface more and i bought another 2.5 lbs of live rock..how much total wieghtwise should i have for a 29 gallon?
at least 15# i would say (but that depends on the density of that rock)...its more of an aesthetic concern than anything else once you get over that 15-20# area
well, usually if you play around with it enough you can get a stable arrangement. if not, you can use underwater epoxy, plastic zip-ties, plastic dowels jammed into drilled holes, or a variety of other methods for attaching them
well next up my glass isn't getting caked in algae now the turbo snail does an ok job but as he wont be there forever what is a more permaneant soulotion?
figure out what is causing the algae...its most likely either nitrates, silicates, or phosphates in your water. beyond that, there is always going to be a little algae growth. msot people use a little magnet to clean it off
