My pet peeve are redundant acronyms.... ATM Machine (Automatic Teller Machine Machine), in the fire service the phrase "RIT Team" is very common... Rapid Intervention Team Team....

Yeah, so I tend to make up my own abbreviations and acronyms. I just found out that I told someone to go to some type of corral when I used LPS for "Local Pet Shop."

Yeah... maybe I should've stumled on this before starting to relpy to threads...

OK, you did not include MTF so I googled it, and there must be a hundred or more meanings! Most of them military or scientific.....so what does it mean regarding aquariums etc? Or was it a typo, and you meant MTS?

JW, we have a "Table Mesa Rd" here in Arizona. That's right, folks. "Table Table Rd."

Fiddlybits - I think someone accidentally put MTF and either meant MFT (myfishtank.net) or MTS...because I'm not aware of an MTF

Thanks for clearing that up! Maybe it could mean "My Tremendous Failure", or "Many Thousand Fish"....
or maybe we should only use acronyms that are commonly understood so newbies* know what we're saying too?

*that includes me!

Thanks for the Great List
But Please remember that acronyms should only be used for words that are repeated many times throughout your document. Because if you type so many acronyms, then readers can become confused.
