yes, hyposalinty will work great for curing ich... It does take a while, but it will work. If you don't have any inverts than doing this in your main tank would be OK. It would however kill anything beneficial in your tank. This will cause an ammonia spike so be sure to watch for it. You want to leave your tank at the lower salinty for a minimum of 6 weeks when you get to the lowest salinty level. It takes about 2 weeks to lower it to 1.011 I think, but I could be wrong. Just google hyposalinity. Good luck with it.
