I've been hearing all these rave reviews about "cichlids are so great and so cool." I don't really know what they look like other than a few pics in books, and I know how we all like to show off our fish, so this is my invite to you to show off as many pics as you can find of your cichlids. Tell us all why they are so great and convince us to convert an entire tank over to cichlids.

ugh i have so many pics that i cant decide which to post...ill figure it out in a min, cuz i just got some more mbuna today that are in a growout tank before they enter the 56

ok im officially (or unnoficially) banning you to post pics matt!!!! its soo unfair to all us other people who dont have good cameras!!! lol Just wait till my rainbow tank is done, and i have a better camera, then i may have pics to maybe closley compare to yours!!!

Tips for taking your pics. I got some nice compliments when I posted my pics. I have a nice nikon digital camera. The key (I found) to taking good pics of your fish, is set the camera to macro (the little picture of the rose: which means a close up shot) and wait for your fish to get close and try to snap the pic. They come out a lot better IMO.

Some of my african cichlids, and why I think they're great:

Two Labidochromis species (L. mbamba & L. caeruleus): DIVERSE!


Mostly Pseudotropheus demasoni: ACTIVE!


Frontosa: MAJESTIC!


Metriaclima sp. zebra 'chilumba' (BB zebra): DOMINANT!
