As promised...enjoy!

Here's 3 of my new ones:

Here's a closeup of one of the smaller black ones from the first pic...the vertical stripe on the dorsal fin is actually pink!

Here are the 2 others:

Well done on the pics BigV.

Guy, work on the color of those fish (IE breeding) you want the black to cover all of the back half. I've seen breeding pairs of full half black angels sell for over $500 bucks.

You breed the ones you have take the offspring with the most amount of black on the back half then breed them. Keep going down the line of spawning offspring until you get what you are looking for color wise. Do not breed more than 7 generations without introducing new genetics to the line. You can also every few generations breed the offspring back to the original parents to help keep the genetics stronger but doing so will cut back on your success with the color you are looking for.

This is basic line breeding.

Fabulous fish guysy and Big Vine! I love them all!

Here are some of my new children :D

black lace

gold

orange marble

silver ghost

smokey leopard (#1), the sheen comes out gree in the photos but it's a pretty blue in person *SUNSMILE*

I've more too. They've all been growing with me for a while and it's so cool to see how much they change as they mature. The most impressive has been the black lace. He was a scrawny little thing when I got him but he's put on lots of bulk and grow in some impressive finnage.

I'm falling in love with angels more and more as I take care of mine every day and see everybody's fantastic pics! Keep em' coming!

angelmom,

Hehe...where are you hiding your angel pics?
I haven't seen pics of your tanks/inhabitants---have you got any to share? I just figured you might have some for this thread, what with the whole "angelmom" and all. ;)

I knew you'd dig some up...thanks for sharing! :D
Very nice...I remember seeing that first pic when someone was trying to sex angels and mistook the female for the male. From the side (using both pics) you can tell that the male does have a more pronounced 'hump' on his forehead, but for the most part it seems like sexing angels is pure guesswork...unless they're breeding of course...and even then...

Speaking of which---have you bred your angels? Are they old/big enough yet? I'm guessing they're in the 3-4 inch body length size now, based on the pics? Am I close?

I'll look forward to more pics later!

I've had them for almost 2 years so they are plenty old enough. The pics I have here are pretty much actual size. So I would say your dead on the money.

I'm not breeding persay but they have in the past. Since I put them in the 90g they haven't layed any eggs. I'm thinking the water is missing a little something that make the other tank perfect for breeding. Never intended on breeding them so it really is no loss. Besides babies would never make it in this tank with the congos and the knife fish.
