if hes pooping then thats means hes eating...

mysis are by far the best thing u can feed them...i drop the cube in frozen and one of them just takes the whole thing with its mouth and runs away. lol

i feed with the powerheads one so it gets distributed evenly. i just saw my LFS do it. i think they turn off their protien skimmer and sumps. not sure.

you should turn off your skimmer and sumps when feeding to prevent the majority of the food getting sucked into the equipment...

Just because it is pooping does not mean it is eating, it just means it ate at some point.

Yea well that doesnt all matter now, i came to find the poor guy belly up. Took him out did a water change. Tested the water to see if anything was wrong and guess what you wont believe your balls the nitrate dropped to 0. Everything else thats in the tank is doin just dandy...

Had to break up a fight or my little hermit was gonna have my nassarius for dinner, stopped it just in time. The water params were fine before the water change. So iunno what happened, all i know is im gonna take him back to the fish store and get my money back, gonna take em a water sample too.

Well I took this unfortunate incident to one do a water change, add some more sand, and add a pair of lunar lights. The three living things in the tank are doin ok. So my 24g aquapod comes in tomorrow, gonna let this one sit for a while and get that other one cycling.

Thanks for the responses.

He looked very healthy one of the best looking ones out of the group. He was active on the ride home, and for about a good 6-8 hours in the tank, the next morning he was near the top swimming against he current breathing heavy, i figured eh its just me and left for work, come home to find him dead. Taking him back to the store in a few mins with a water sample before the water change.

Check this out, i took him back to the store with a water sample. They checked my water they said everything was perfect. And said I should consider adding corals. Mind you it was the water the fish had been dead in for a few hours, and it was the water before the water change. So im walkin around and i look at the group of clowns in which i got em from, 3 of em were lying dead in the tank....

Oh I know they're all connected I snuck back there once. Saw a huge skimmer like almost from the floor to the ceiling. That sucks too they seemed like a good store. As far as stocking... I've decided to pass on the clown for this tank and get a pair in my 24g Aquapod. So now I dont know what to put in this one.

I was thinking a yellow watchman goby.... and I have no idea what else.

the reality is that all fish stores have dead fish, the good ones just take out the dead fish as soon as they die so the customer does not see them (I know as I have done this) Out of sight, out of mind.

You have live rock in there? you will eventually get some form of algae, it happens at different paces and patterns for everyone.

Iunno Katemiester, I kinda want my desk space back, plus I just got my 24g Aquapod in so I think I'm just gonna stick to getting that one right, I learned a lot of from the start of this one, which is basically what I wanted, just some experience. Good Luck with your tank kate, i know we started at the same time but you outlasted me. :D I just don't have the time to take care of two, and this one requires a lot of attention. Had I not gotten the bigger one I would have worked it out with this one. :)

Well, this tank was over before it started, I wanna thank everyone that helped with the start of it. Much love....... My new tank thread will be up soon. Thanks again everyone.
