i dont think the pistol will pop incessantly...if i recall they do an ocassional pop now and again only. aresgod has one so maybe he will reply.

as far as acclimating between QT and display if the water parameters are the same in each there is no reason to acclimate.

No, the pistol choice is up to you, and they don't always pair off with a goby, I have 2 tanks and they paired in one but not the other, and the popping isnt' constant, but it is loud enough to wake you up in the middle of the night and you think your tank glass has cracked, it takes some getting used to but they are cool little guys.

ok well i went to the lfs to check if they had gotten my onyx in and they hadnt. I then called my other lfs(more trusted) and they had only occelaris in so i told them to put me down for reg true percs(2 juveniles) because all the black varients had be reserved, she also has misbarred true percs coming in that she said were really god looking last time she had them. So im going end of the week to see what they have(hopefully black varient or if the misbarred are cool). I think i will pay the extra 5-10 for CB rather than 5-10 less for WC as my other lfs. I also got frozen mysis and the 7$ coralife digi thermometer. My QT was at 75 degrees so i jacked up my heater. I wanted the little temp and time but my mom thought is was stupid for ten dollers more for only a degree more accurate, ohh well.

I like the coralife digital thermometer, only problem is the suction cup on the part in the water crapped out on me and like went to a reverse pose and wont stick to anything and just float ontop of the water.

I'm always astonished anyone thinks they can tell the difference between true percs' and ocellaris - the only difference is price and a fin count, despite what anyone tells you re: colour.

Im going to get my semi onyx clowns tommorow. One is bigger than the other and their in the same tank so i assume they have already decided who is who. I was wondering. after i put them in qt and then in the display a few months from now, what would be wrong with an arrow crab? I just looked on liveaquaria and their arrow crabs dont look like the ones in the lfs. The ones their have six legs i think and two small claws and their head is like lifted above their body. Its kinda hard to explain. It dosnt look like any arrow crab i have seen but he had two or three. Their legs spread out are like a 3" diameter.

Im back! haha, wow, its been a long long time since I have posted. My 15 gallon, not 20 gallon tank is doing good. I still dont have fish in yet but my 2 false percs are in a ten gallon QT right now. I got my 96watt powerquad in monday and I will be getting a few zoo and mushroom frags tommorow. Once I find my digital camera Ill post some updated pics.
