Yeah - we both (the breeder and I) knew he was fairly mature when I bought him at about 2". He charged me a little more because of it, but charged me less on the Queen because it was so young...

I'm debating whether or not to try another Hypancistrus in my tank, but leaning towards thinking I'm full - especially on the bottom...

na you got room. Their diet is more important. Mixing carnivores with herbivores can go badly in the long run as each species gets too much of what ever they don't need in their diet, and spot feeding several types of plecs can be a real PITA.

I'd say having a couple of each isn't too bad, but for instance a BN will never go into my L260 tank simply because the amount of raw shrimp that is fed to that tank will certainly kill the BN.

Here's another shot of my LDA08, when he was showing better color:

This makes me realize that I could stand to do a "study" on my plecos and get some better shots (a la what I did with my male GBR on my journal thread).

Well, that's enough reason for me to hold off mixing, since both my L134 and LDA08 get fed mostly vegetables (and the L134 will occasionally slurp up a bloodworm, but mostly ignores them).

Maybe I could get another small herbivore species, like an L204...or perhaps a female LDA08...hmm...

Any suggestions? (hehe)

I was looking through this thread and I saw that I couldn't see my pics of my pleco coming up. So, just incase they're not working I'll post another pic of him. Here he is, "The Old Man"

Since those were pictures of Hippo when we first got him/her. These are ones I just took. Hippo's markings have changed alot.
Petsmart said it's a common. And needed time to break into it's new home.
4 weeks after.
