Yeah, Hurricane Ike left me without power since last Thursday night... and we're not scheduled to have power back until tomorrow, hopefully. I wish I had a geny so I could've at least keep the filters running. I wouldn't be surprised if my water bill is so high with as many water changes as I had to make. I got bacterial blooms in this tank and the 20...
I found my DG, she was hiding... the only survivors are my laberynths - The betta, and DG... I found some dead amanos in between the microsword, I also found some that jumped ship.... and dried up on the floor.
about 95% of my microsword is melted. I'm pulling all of it out and putting anything that's still alive in the 10 gallon to grow out another carpet. (I'm very surprised that the microsword is mostly melted... while the HC in my 10 gallon is doing well....)
I think I'm going to take Orion's idea about flipping over the driftwood... I'll just keep the driftwood with java moss and let it grow out for a long while, until I can get another carpet of microsword.
Since my shrimp in the 10 gallon seem to be doing well, I may just stick to shrimp-only tanks for now... I'll be moving all the surviving fish into the 15 gallon until I'm confident enough to move back into fish.
After spending so much time and money in this hobby, I don't think I can let one little (ok, kinda big) storm make me quit!
