This is written in a rush because soon, I'll be going and have no WiFi (I'm on my Laptop)...but I'll type what I can.

I joined this forum in April 2008 and currently have 10 posts (including this one); SO I'd like to change that!

Here goes:

29gal:
1 Male Paradise Fish
4 Tiger Barbs (bumping to 8 hopefully today)
3 Cherry Barbs (bumping to 4)
3 Rosey Barbs (bumping to 4)
7 cories
Snails, Shrimp and a TON of Live Plants

I'm hoping to add in a ton of minnows (danios and white clouds) and get a small school of Gold Barbs. Can you see the theme? This a cool water tank.

Divided 2.5gal:
2 Female Bettas, Snails, Shrimp and a TON of live plants!

Almost outta WiFi(2 bars; now one), outta time. TTYL

Ok....So I'm back with a QUICK update...but can't talk much because I have to get some work done...so the update is, I bought 2 Albino Tiger Barbs! They are really skinny IMO...but I'm hoping they will do well. I just feed them so hopefully, I can get them to be fat butts like everyone else in that tank.

I agree, it is at maximum stocking right now, and I hope that you didn't/don't add any more barbs. I know you didn't ask for input, but I just wanted to second what scott said.

I appreciate the input/concern.. No, I havn't added any more Barbs to the mix...but I'm moving the cories to a different tank soon....so I might then. The tetras moved to the 55gal.

What do you mean by cool tank? Temperature or awesome? Danios aren't minnows. White cloud's stay small, about 1.5 inches, while other minnow's that are commonly sold like the fathead (silverish with a darker stripe horizontal on the body) or the colour morph rosy red (pink) get to be about 3 inches and much "thicker". My rosy's have gotten quite big. Just mentioning this as minnows can be a broad term.

Thinking about it today, I might settle for a 125gal Tank for my angels/tetras and move my CW fish to my 55gal and "shut" my 29gal Down until I can decided what it's future will be. I would love cichlids but a 29 is too small for them.

Cool means lower temperature. None of my tanks are "cool" as in interesting or whatever... as I set them up to be natural...not for me to enjoy but the fish to enjoy. I enjoy them...soo seeing them happy makes me happy.

BTW: Yes, I'm a bit concerned about my Rosies growing the full 6" but that's usaully not common(that's wild sizes) and they usually max out at around 4-5".

That's a good call moving them to the bigger tank, and your angels will love a 125 gallon. I'm not sure though if tiger barbs and cheery barbs are lower temperature fish.. the others you listed are fine. However if they're happy I suppose there isn't a problem with the temperature! Remember, if you move your cories, to acclimatise them very slowly if the temperature difference is great.

What's up??? You've got my curiosity piqued now.

I reread the thread, and even went and found your other recent posts and read those threads. Didn't find anybody freaking out on you, though. Did somebody send you a nasty PM or something??

They got a disease that kills them within 24 hours. I'll be tearing down, cleaning, and resetting it up soon. Hopefully. I won't overstock it but want basically the same fish I had. Minnows - no...The barbs were to agressive to even consider them...they chased each other to no end...kinda playfully but I think it wouldn't be playfully with minnows(Gold White Clouds, Rosey and Burma Danios).

Aw man, that's horrible. What disease??? How did you find out? Are you sure -- have they all died already?? *SICK*

When you reset, how about cycling the tank fishlessly while you choose your fish? It's hard to be patient, but it's kinda fun deciding amongst all the possible combinations you could choose, getting feedback from others who've had those fish, rethinking it all, and then finally going and buying the ones you've decided on once the tank is cycled... not having to worry about ammonia and nitrite levels sickening the fish... stocking fully right at the get-go.... It has its advantages.

No, they aren't all dead. Not yet.

There are actually 2 diseases: one where the tail end of the fish get's paralyzed and goes white and the other is a fungus that killed my first(and favorite) betta. I'm going to try to treat with melafix and have a ton of salt in there(recommended levels) and soon will go to the store and buy a few more fish if everything is stable by then. If not, I won't...If I lose everything; the tank has to go up because I only make 130$ a week(work 3 days) and that's going towards the Morgage helping my parents out.

I have 1 Rosey Barb Left, 1 Albino Tiger, 4 Mossy Tigers, and 3 Cherry barbs. All look pretty rough.

Do you know the name of the disease? I can't find any info on it.

I think I'd go at least a month or more without any symptoms of disease and with perfect water parameters before even considering adding anything after such serious problems. Seriously.

(I assume you test your water? Have high ammonia, nitrite, or nitrate added to the problems in the tank? Just curious.)
