well by definition technician is a skilled worker, not as learned as an engineer but qualified. I would have to say at the least he does tech support or possibly PC repair. Either job is def > 130.00 a week, even @ 3days/week. So by definition his job cannot be what a PC technician really is. I was a tech support guy as an intern and I still made 5x his weekly pay working only 2 more days a week

When i went through A+ Certification
the main op systems were win95,98 and NT (yes win95)
they were just changing testing (swapping out 95 for 2000 )if i remember correctly
this was also in the big Y2K scare ! LOL
i wouldnt even have considered that field for that kind of money ! LOL
im not in that field but i would hope its a better pay scale than that ! LOL

With me being 16, I'm happy to make that! I get paid 5$ an hour working 3 days a week (9hrs a day)

The point was to show off my tanks, then everything went crazy in my life(don't ask).

I got a few pictures of my betta girls' tank today and am trying to get a good one of the 29...the 5hex is always in the way wherever it is! LOL. Newt loves it though so I don't gripe. Much.

Kenny I'm sorry we'er getting off topic, but 5.00/hr to do PC work, even if it means setting up PCs, turning them on and installing windows, you should be getting paid at least 9.00/hr. 5.00/hr isn't even min wage anymore, that's like what waiters get at cheap restaurants, but tips too.

As I said, I'm happy I'm getting ANY money(a few months ago, I didnt get any money cuz I had no job).

I could always ask for a raise; but it isn't important to me. Really; it's not a REAL job(I work which days I want)...just something I go do for fun.

I did get a 500$ dell vostro A860 laptop (with core 2 duo, wireless, bluetooth, 2gb's of RAM, vista home premium, office, etc.) a few weeks ago! I needed it to replace my stupid desktop!

no i agree i think its great that your working at 16, and the job you have will probably be good experience for your future career. I just think by your job title, based on what "i" think you do is worth more than 5.00/hr. What I think is probably completely wrong though, or far from it. *twirlysmi

this reminds me of my first job i was 14or15 of coarse i was paid under the table being so young. it was an Aamco transmission place sweeping floors etc.
i bought my first computer ( a Commodore 64 ) ya im giving my age away LOL
i was so happy !

Well I was wrong *knocks on wood* my tank stabilized aftter all 3 of my rosies and the hurt albino tiger(not my baby who I talk to everyday) died. For 2 months, while the tank's plants finish filling in, I will be keeping a close eye on the remaining fish the add more when I'm positive everthing is stable.

Tank is beatiful but I'm super sad about my fishy (pun intended?) deaths.

I've had one bulb since July of last year so when I change it, I'll add the other. Or maybe buy my new fixture?

Here's my log of me working two new days towards cash:

Thursday 5/14/09 8:30-5:00 8.5 Hours
Tuesday 5/19/09 8:00-5:30 9.5 Hours

42.5$ + 47.5$= 90$

I wonder if I could squeeze a zero on the end of 90? O's don't matter right!?

BTW: Yes, it's under the table. I don't want hassles yet with a checking account...if it was I'd be demanding a whole lot more money.

New Fish; Changes

So, I got my paycheck yesterday and I've been thinking about what I'm going to do in my tanks....heres what I'm thinking[obviously, I can't do it all @ one time]:

Tear down 2.5gal, Disinfect, Add new plants, Add new filter, and done.

Disinfect 5.5gal, Put in new, clean, gravel, Add a bubble stone, LOTS of plants, New Filter, Lid and Light, Add the new male betta, and done.

Tear down 5galHEX(Disinfect and Put up), Setup a new 20galH as a Plaudarium.

Then then redo the big tanks...but thats a whole different thing I haven't planned yet.

Oh yeah, I'm buying a pair of butterfly koi for my pond. That should be cool! I already have two but they are Short Finned. They are a year old and 9".

That's normal. I could have all the small tanks [2.5-55] done in a day if I had the right supplies. I don't though. Not yet.

I do 90% WC's on my ~200gal Pond each week (but normally 40%) trying to keep it clean. Pea Soup Algae is killer.

Koi! Betta!

I got 2 butterfly koi for my big pond and they are so cute! Their names are Lightning and Thunder. While there, I browsed through the bettas and ened up with a color changing mostly teal betta. He's gorgous but lives in a 1gal Bowl with lid/light for QT/Holding until I get a 2.5gal Minibow setup for him.

SOOO, I got some new fish!!

I got 3 Albino Glowlight Tetras (to keep the one in there company), 1 Florida Flag Fish (to clean the 29's algae), 2 M. Spledida SPP. Rainbows, 3 Von Rio Tetras, 1 CAE(free hitchiker with a new sword plant), 1 Ballon Molly,1 Unknown Fry(free hitchhiker), and 1 Long Finned Black Skirt Tetras. I think thats it!
