your clean up crew doesn't need fed or else they wont "clean" and my skunk cleaner shrimp just eats flakes, frozen food, live food and whatever else i stick in there lol and the skimmer i made one with a bottle awhile back it worked but didn't like it so i took it out and came up with plans to buy one (now i'm on the mission to find someone selling one)

planning to get a cleaner shrimp 2morrow.

is 5 snails and 4 red leg herimits enough to clean a 10g tank with about 10lbs of LR? and 20lbs of LS

btw the Astraea snails arent doing much...just one snail (the around Turbo Snail) is doing most of the work.

hermits are doing just fine cleaned a lot of the rocks.

i have some algae hair like plants sticking out...its not green but brown probably cuz of the sand.

this morning i thought one of my hermit died...(the first thing that went through my head was omg bad water!!!) i quicky took the body out and threw it way. the shell was upside down and was just laying there on top of the LR... i just left it.

when i got back home the shell was gone...i was like??? did the other hermit hide it??

i counted them again and found that i still have all 4 and the guy has just molting... that was a relief...but the exoskeleton looked like a dead body....first experience...good thing i didnt take out the shell =P

im using a spiral PC as lighting right now. it seems to help the coral line growth a lot more then my 20k 18 inch 15 watt fluorescent light.

the out put of my PC is 75 watts i think. but is a lot more red then the 20k light. its probably aroudn 2600-4600 kelvins

my nitrite went up a little probably .20 or .02 or some really low number.

i only have my CUC 5 snails and 4 hermits...but i found that some of their waste laying around but desolves after a day or so. bacteria are eating it right??

i getting kind of nervous adding fishes in my tank but its been like over a month now. right now should be fine right?

(better get my WC water ready...)

Wait an extra week if you are not sure, dont add like four fish in it as your bio-load may not take it. One or two at a time and you should be good. Looks good so far*PEACE!*

8.4 is fine, do you use the liquid tests? 8.2 seems to be the sweet spot in my tanks. PH will stay from 8.07 the lowest to 8.32 the highest. Current PH 8.20 (Sweet!):D

it went to 8.4 by mistake...used a buffer X.X to raise the KH...
but everything seems fine.

just added 6 nassarius the nice guy at my LFS sold them for me for $5.
(would have been like $1.25-1.50 ea.)

there doing find but my sand doesnt have that much food in to so its hit burrowing...as much.

lol too much CUC? 10 snails and 4 crabs? in a 10g?
might get blue leg hermits and maybe a emeral crab
