Wow i didnt realise i had replies

TRe- not really sure. Probably wont be doing SPS because i dont really like those corals. Im hopefully gonna get a small frag of frogspawn and some more rics for sure. Not sure about other corals yet.

Lotus - yeah ive seen that article. Ive looked for the Furan 2 stuff but i cant seem to find it here :( Im not even sure its zoa pox. It hasnt really spread but there is like a white patch on one of the poylps, but apart from that there isnt many other spots (about 2-3 that i can see)
Also, most of the poylps dont open up anymore. Could this just be the light shock? Ive got some saltwater aging atm so i will do a wc later and see if that encourages them to come out.
heres a crappy pic of the white patch on one of the zoa poylps. Anyone know what it is?

if the problem started after getting the new light im willing to bet thats the problem...did you acclimate the tank slowly to the new light??
...no :(
i kinda..forgot. When the light came i was like WOW so i just put it on the tank and turned it on. Ooops. Is there anything i can do to help them open up?

try putting them in a shaded area on the bottom of the tank...also how long do you leave the lights on per day?? you can try cutting down on that ... id start at 4 hrs per day and every few days increase it by 1 hr until your at about 8 hrs wich IMO is plenty

They are on the bottom atm, i will put them in a shaded area today. I turn the lights on when i get back from school so about 3.30 and i turn them off about 9.30 soooo they are on for 6hrs per day.

well i see your progress in your 8gal has been pritty good, what are you permitters on your water? and well some corals take a while to get use to the light, so slowely intrudice them to the light, i havent really posted anything but about the clowns how they change to female well, all clowns are born male, and as they get get older the biggest clown in the bunch turns into a female and once she is moved away the next in line turns into a female, if you only have one clown in your tank it turns into a female, cuz she the dominate one in the tank.

Params are:
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: about 6 (i use tap water)
pH: 8

i took some more pics today after i rearranged the rock
i was trying to take a pic of my ric from above, but my clown wanted to be in the pic :p :

finally got a pic of my tiny ric, its lost alot of colour since being under PC lights but its colouring up more now its under MH. This pic also shows the colours on my LR :)

I put the ric, and the zoas under a rock for some shade and they started to open up :D

green zoas (they look alot brighter when they are directly under the MH)

another pic of the ric:

Hey everyone.
I have noticed LOTS of little white worm things growing on the walls of my tank and over the rocks etc. You know the type that are hard and in those curly white shells. I believe they are called Spirorbis.
Anyway, i have noticed they are growing over the poylps of my zoanthids, they dont seem to be bothing them and they are still opening up. I was just wondering if i should leave them be or gently scrape them off?
