You may get excess algae growth outside of the fuge area, but I guess that wouldn't matter too much. I think the PC light would work just fine for what you want to use it for. The cheato should grow more densly before it starts to really expand.

cant you just use spiral compact bulbs? their a lot cheaper. and eaiser to get.

btw if you really thing about it 55g sump?

but dont get me wrong i seen tanks thats equiped with over 150gs.

whats a good ratio size of the tank and the size of the sump?

i could have used spiral bulbs only this was free since i already had the pc's and though yes it seems small it will serve its purpose at least for the time being not to mention that fact that u cant see the whole thing since both ends are hidin within the cabinet

mine is pretty dense but its producing a lot of bubbles which is a good thing right?
