what are good tank mates for tiger barbs? i have heard that they can be kind or killers, so i am really confused!

btw, the tiger barbs will be going in the 65 gallon tank( the mollies are there to cycle unless they are compatible.the reg. mollies have sailfins). i have the option to take the fish from the 46 gallon and put them in the 65 and just have tiger barbs in the 46. if i were to do that, what bottomfeeders could i have and could i have a paradise fish with them? how many of them could i put in there?
