Okay, well i didnt get exactly what i wanted to get but i got enough. I got what i believe to be 1 nassarius, 3 ceriths, and i think 1 asteara. I do have on question and that is do the snails like to be at the water line in the tank? I have 3 snails that are doing this? the other 2 are are on lr and the other has buried himself into the substrate. I love nassarius but they are 9.99 each at my lfs, is that high?

First i would like to say sorry for bad picture quality, i will have better ones when i get my moms camera. Second i made a mistake, i wasnt 100% sure the snail i got was a nassarius snail, and guess what, it isnt. I accidentally got a turbo snail. But i know for a fact the rest are ceriths and astearas. What should i do about the turbo, should i keep him or give him back to my lfs?

ME EITHER! And friend and I started roughly at the same time, he started a little sooner only because my LR took so long to get here. And he already has 2 fish in and they look amazing! I guess i should start talking about what fish i like. I am set on getting at least 1 clownfish I would like to get 2 of them and try to have them breed, how hard is that to do? The other fish that i have been throwing around in my mind are dwarf flame angel, bangaii cardinals, royal gramma, scooter blenny, firefish, YWG, hmm well thats all i can think of.. Any suggestions/recommendations?!!

I love the dwarf flame angel and royal gramma.

I'm really following along with this journal because I'm planning on starting up a nano reef this spring or summer. I think I will do the 24g nanocube or their new 28g one that I saw online somewhere. I really can't wait to get started though. :D

The cost is the main reason I haven't started one up yet. Most of the cost seems to be at the start up though so I will just be saving up plenty of money so that I will be able to do things correctly right from the start. I'm excited to have one though because they are just so amazing to look at.

I think the turbo snail will be fine. They seem to take quite a while to get big. Congrats on the first purchased inhabitants!

I guess with the fish, it's really what you like (and compatability). I love my gobies, but that's just because I seem to have a liking for bottom dwellers :)

The fridmandi pseudochromis is one of the most colorful fish in my tank, and as an added bonus, he's tank raised.

Thank you Lotus! So this is a rough outline of what i will probably get, but it sounds like it might be a little overstocked? Im not sure about the limits of stocking saltwater yet. 2 clowns, 1 flame angels,1 royal gramma, and 1 scooter blenny or yellow watchmen goby. The flame angel is the only thing that might push me over my limit, im not sure? But i love there beauty!I like the fridmandi pseudochromis, i might end up changing my stocking list if i can find one locally. I read that it will chase smaller tankmates, is that true?

I do think that's too many fish for your tank. I'd say maybe remove a couple of those. I have no idea on the angels... they don't appeal that much to me, so I've not read up on them.

The pseudochromis has been fine with all my fish with the exception of wrasses, which have a similar body shape. He's been fine with cardinals and gobies. For some reason, the true color of them is hard to photgraph. The color is so intense in person.

A scooter blenny probably won't do well in your tank. They need a larger system with a sump to provide enough pods (like mandarins). A goby would be a better choice.

Okay, ill go with a YWG most likely then. I love the look of mandarins, they are a fish that i plan to have once im more experienced and have a larger tank. Next time i go to my lfs i will look for a fridmani pseudochromis, im not to positive that they have them. I wish i could get cardinals to, but my lfs only has spiny cardinals??? The flame angel only gets to be about 4in. If i can i will probably remove the royal gramma and replace it with a fridmani pseudochromis if i can find one.

A lot of people like the grammas. I guess it all boils down to finding fish you like :)

Just remember that it's way to easy to buy something pretty then coming home to find out it's just not suitable for your tank. If you have to, put a deposit on a fish that you like then go home and research it before picking it up.

I will, but i wont really need to put a deposit on a fish at my lfs. If it sells in there tanks then they will get more, and if it doesnt then they wont. Saltwater fish are like Freshwater in that you need to do alot of research on each type of fish you like. I have been researching saltwater fish for just barely over a month now. By the way, im not %100 sure about the flame. I have read that everyonce in awhile people will get one that picks at corals, so im not sure.
