I was doing a search on bak pak modifications and this is what i found.

This guy has directed the oulet of the skimmer to a HOB filter to stop the micro bubbles going into the tank. Very good idea! I am also thinking of doing the same thing. Will post some pics once done with the modification. If you look closely you can notice he has his heater in the skimmer. I am thinking of doing the same thing.

That looks like a great idea....I may just try that.......my only fear would be if that hose flipped up....I think I would want to run it down into the chamber of the hob..........sounds like a solid plan though.

I have already done that just need to get everything up and running. Finally got my wooden airstone so just need the time to set everything up. I used the intake from an aqua clear 30 HOB filter cut it up and siliconed everything together. This is one of the best idea's I have seen on the net. I will give it a try today and post some pics later.

yea...that is not a coral...that is an anemone, a bubble tip, and as I am sure you are aware, anemones are not good for beginners, especially in a tank this young and small...personally I would return it if you can, unless you want to try your luck, but now that you know what it is, make your self aware of its requirements.

Yeah I know its not a coral. I did a lot of research on it and I'm sure i can handle it. It does not need much care except for good lighting, some mysis ,clown and good water conditions . Why do you think it is not good for beginners. It's very hardy. What did you mean by try your luck? are they a lot of trouble. At present he is moving around looking for a good place. The clowns have not yet hosted. Could you give me a few pointer and why I should return him. Maybe I will if you really don't think I can take care of it. I don't know maybe you are right. let me know.

they are easy to kill. sensetive, need flow, need light, need food, need as close to perfect water quality as possible. i think you might be able to handle it... you have a good specimin.

Ok thanks. I also think I might be able to look after it. Anyways I have one more question. I have 100's if not 1000's of copepods in my tank, for the past 2 days they have increased in numbers. they are allover the place before i only had them on the front glass now they are everywhere? any suggestions.

if it is moving around then it is unhappy, your tank is still very young and water conditions are likely to fluctuate, I generally don't recommend anemones in tanks that small because they move, are disruptive, and highly sensitive and things go wrong faster. I also have to ask did you proof all of your power heads...very easy for an anemone to wander into one and get chopped to pieces...Lorna had hers hide in the rock work and die where she could not get it...they are just alot of work, and not recommended for beginners, I don't know where you found that, they are some of the easier anemones but are still difficult.

Thanks for the info aresgod. I will watch it for 2 days if it does not lock down then I will return it for sure. I really want it to lock down but if it does not then its going back. I think I might not be ready for it yet. Thanks again for the info.
