it does not look like the ones on google or even the site that you posted. It could be. when i was toching it was curling up. Could it be one? if it is. is it good or bad? I am about to do a water change. Should i scrub the rock and then do a water change?

Update

Ok yesterday I did a 25% water change and nothing changed?

Ammonia is still high at 8 or more
Ph is still low at 7.8

And my temperature jumped up to 83, 84 F. Have not idea why Room was much cooler and the heater was put at the minimum. So had to put a huge fan to blow over the water surface. Which reduced the temperature to 78 F now the temperature is 79 and I think it is still riseing. What should I do with the ammonia, the PH and the temperature any suggestion. Really need some guidence here.

After reading the thread again. You DIy your lighting. Is the back completely covered? If it is then it would be your lights that are causeing the high Temps. You may need to drill some good size goles in the back to allow hot air to get out. You might also need to add some cooling fans like mentioned before.

I would turn your light off during the day and see what the temp is. I will help you find out if it is your light.

Oh my god. I Think you might be right! I am too new to all this. Well i was just saying that my lights are not the one that increase the temperature. It has to be something else. How long should i keep the lights on?

Check you heater?
If it isnt your lights it has to be your heater.

Its not actually the heater but I though it might be and got a new Visi -Therm Stealth 100. My old one was too old. It didn't even have the temperature markings that other heaters have. Had to do a lot of guessing work to get the right temp. Well will be replacing it soon. and will use the old one for water changes. I will start using lighting too. I didn't know about that now I do. Hope everything goes as planned.

Update

OK so I finally got the temperature controled Thanks to the Visi therm 100. Although in the night I still have to use a fan to keep it cool. But the fan thing does a very good job in cooling the tank up a few degrees. AS for the ammonia it is still the same at 8 or above. Tank is still a little cloudy have no idea why though. Will update soon with pics.

Ok guys thanks for the wonderfull words. Nothing has changed everything is still the same as before. I will definetly post some pics soon. need some time to let it cycle. Hope it finishes cycling soon. It has been only 2 days though. The PH is still low and ammonia is still very high. The purple on the rock is changing to green don't know if this is good or not.

A little update.

Need some help with identification.

I was just looking at the rock for some progress and saw some white stuff. Have attached 3 pics with markings. Let me know if this is good if the red turning green is good or not?

Here is a pic of the rock yesterday.

Here is the rock today. Let know as soon as possible.
