Update on cory fry

They Hatched!!!!!!!! I layed the container in sideways yesterday so if they hatched, then they could swim out. I woke up this morning and all these little fishies were swimming around! They can't swim to the left side of the tank yet where the filter is because the current's too strong. I saw one little guy try and he ended up swimming upside down and rolling around a bunch.

I counted 7 eggs that haven't hatched. I even saw one hanging its tail out of the egg, just sitting there. And one guy was turning around in his egg. It was soooooooo cool!!!!!!

Anyway, here's some pics: excuse the poor quality, I just woke up...*yawns*

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

They are adorable! Since your tank parameters are good, I think something else is probably killing them off. Maybe you already answered this, but what is the tank temp being kept at and what are you feeding the fry?

I just hope they ALL survive cuz I really don't want any more casualties. I'm getting sick of that. :D
Well, for what it's worth, you're really doing very, very well. But, (and, please don't take this the wrong way) I don't think it's reasonable to expect no more casualties. You've had more success breeding than a lot of us (particularly us newbies ;)). And, the reason that there are so many fry is that the survival rate for these guys in nature is really low; producing so many babies is how the species overcomes those dismal odds.

Good work! And, good luck! *thumbsup2

Yup. Totally agree. But since I've had the first batch die and half of the second, I really don't want that to happen again. Still, some are gonna die, I know that, but I hope that the majority survives. :D
